My approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a one-state solution based on justice, equality, and the rejection of Zionism as a framework for governance. A lasting peace cannot be built on ethnic supremacy or segregation. Instead, a single, secular, democratic state should be established in historic Palestine, where Jews, Muslims, Christians, and all people have equal rights and protections under the law.
This means:
- Ending apartheid policies and dismantling Zionist structures that enforce ethnic privilege and displacement.
- Guaranteeing full political, civil, and human rights for all inhabitants, regardless of ethnicity or religion.
- Ensuring the right of return for Palestinian refugees who were expelled or displaced.
- Dismantling illegal settlements and integrating settlers as equal citizens under a fair legal framework.
- Establishing a government that serves all people, rather than privileging one group over another.
This vision rejects both the ongoing oppression of Palestinians and the false premise that peace can only be achieved through permanent segregation. A just future means one land, one people, one law—where everyone is truly equal.
I draw inspiration from Aki Orr, founder of the ISO (Matzpen), whose work challenged authoritarianism and sought true democracy through direct participation. His vision of governance, free from elite control and based on genuine self-determination, serves as a foundation for my belief in a just and democratic future for all people in Palestine.
